Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — Infinity Castle, the first in a series of three films that will close the epic saga of Demon Slayer, has shattered a box office record.

Per ScreenRant, the film had the best opening weekend for a Japanese anime film in U.S. history.

It grossed $70 million, breaking the record set by Pokémon: The First Movie in 1999. (Adjusted for inflation, Pokémon earned $60 million.)

When Will ‘Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’ Be Available to Stream?

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle | MAIN TRAILER

No official streaming date has been announced for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle yet, but it may be sooner than fans expect. The first film, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, was released in theaters in April 2021 and became available exclusively to Funimation subscribers in June — just two months later. It’s possible that Infinity Castle could follow a similar pattern.

On the other hand, many anime movies distributed by Sony Pictures have taken longer to hit streaming. According to Decider, the average gap between theatrical and streaming debuts for Sony releases on Crunchyroll is five to six months, which would place Infinity Castle on streaming around March 2026.
