Oscar-nominated actress Demi Moore opened up about witnessing her only grandchild’s birth alongside her own three daughters.
“It was really incredible,” Moore told People of the birth in a cover story published on Tuesday, April 22.
In 2023, Moore’s oldest daughter, Rumer Willis, whom she shares with actor Bruce Willis became a mom, welcoming a daughter of her own, Louetta.
The little one celebrated her 2nd birthday on Friday, April 18.
During her conversation with People, Moore discussed what it felt like to be with her daughters, which also includes Scout La Rue Willis and Tallulah Willis, when Rumer gave welcomed Louetta. “Rumer was at Scout’s birth; Scout and Rumer were at Tallulah’s birth,” she recalled while talking about the full-circle moment.
“Rumer had a home birth,” Moore continued, adding that she worried for her daughter in that moment. “There was a moment when I thought, ‘Oh boy, I don’t know if she’s going to make it,’ like she has a different pain threshold than I do.”
However, to Moore’s surprise, Rumer, who was 34 years old at the time, proved she could handle it.
“To just see her move into her own power and focus, it was a really extraordinary, beautiful moment,” Moore, 62, admitted.
In a 2023 podcast episode, Rumer, now 36, recalled portions of her birthing experience while talking with the hosts of “Informed Pregnancy Podcast,” revealing that not only did she have an unmedicated home birth but that she broke her own water.
From there, things moved quickly. “It was like, I pushed a little bit … well, I didn’t push a little bit, I pushed harder than I’ve ever probably, but it was literally like I pushed, her head was out,” Willis described, “I pushed again and her whole body was out.”
In her recent birthday post for Louetta, Rumer marveled at being her mom. “Two years of you, and somehow I’m still stunned that I get to love you like this,” she captioned a snap of her daughter.
Rumer celebrated her mom’s newest title as one of People‘s World’s Most Beautiful on her Instagram story, writing, “Ummm holy s***. That’s my mom,” alongside a photo of Moore’s cover shoot.
