Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo met with the Rev. Al Sharpton on Friday morning in an apparent attempt to court him for an endorsement — as speculation swirls around Mayor Eric Adams potentially dropping out of the race, The Post has learned.

Cuomo requested the Regency Hotel breakfast sit-down and asked Sharpton to “have an open mind” if the race gets winnowed to a one-on-one matchup between the ex-gov and socialist Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani, the reverend said.

“I’m very impressed with Mamdani but I’ve known Andrew for 40 years, going back to the ’80s with his father,” ex-Gov. Mario Cuomo, Sharpton told The Post.

“It’s something to think about.”

The prominent civil rights activist and radio host previously urged Cuomo to ditch his campaign for the general election after the former governor was walloped by Mamdani in the June Democratic primary.

Sharpton just last week swiped at both Cuomo and Adams after neither independent candidate showed at a “March on Wall Street” protesting President Trump’s policies that the rev attended alongside Mamdani.

“I don’t endorse candidates but I take attendance,” Sharpton said then.

He emphasized that the vote of the black community could be critical in a multi-candidate race and that Cuomo didn’t explicitly ask for an endorsement.

Cuomo posted a photo on X of the two together, saying, “Great breakfast catching up with my old friend, @TheRevAl.”

Cuomo spokesman  Rich Azzopardi added: “Governor Cuomo and Reverend Sharpton have stood side by side for decades, fighting for justice and progress.

“They meet from time to time over breakfast to discuss issues critical to the city, the state, and the nation. Today’s meeting was both productive and positive.”

Democratic consultant Chris Sosa said the meet might be an indicator that Cuomo is worried about the support Mamdani’s campaign has racked up since snagging the Dem nomination.

“Cuomo is rightfully concerned as Democratic leaders coalesce around Mamdani, even those who previously supported the former governor,” he said.

“While I’d be surprised to see an endorsement materialize against the Democratic nominee, the electoral math remains the math,” Sosa said. “Cuomo needs an act of God to have a snowball’s chance in Hell.”

Another Democratic operative quipped: “Classic Cuomo, line up money, then the black vote, then, watch, a union endorsement.”
