A woman was killed early Saturday after allegedly pointing a handgun at state troopers who were responding to a reported domestic dispute, police said.
The incident unfolded around 2:30 a.m. as state troopers arrived at a home on Forrest Drive in the Orange County town of Deerpark, in upstate New York near the Pennsylvania border.
Officers found a man on the front porch who told them a woman inside the home had a knife and a gun.
When the woman emerged minutes later, she appeared to point a black handgun at cops — and two of them opened fire, state police said.
The woman was taken to Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis and later died.
This is a developing story.
