Clueless American tourists board flight to Africa, thinking it’s bound for France: ‘Airline employee misheard us’

To Nice or Tunis, that is the question.

American TikTokker Brittney Dzialo is going viral for somehow boarding a plane headed to Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, rather than her intended destination — Nice, France.

In her highly viewed TikTok that she posted yesterday, Dzialo and her friend can be seen boarding a Tunisair flight from Rome (FCO) to Tunis (TUN).

They laughed it off when someone on board said they were bound for Tunis — until the punchline landed: their intended European getaway was actually taking them to North Africa.

“Is this going to Nice?” one of the girls asked another woman on the plane. “Tunis, yeah,” she replied — a mix-up that showed just how easily the travelers confused two very different locations.

The two girls then nervously giggled and Googled where Tunis is located.

They then asked a flight attendant if the plane would indeed go to Nice, France, showing it to her on an iPhone Maps app, to which she responded, “No.”

She then pointed to their tickets, showing that it said “Tunis” rather than “to Nice,” as they must’ve requested.

They then asked another woman on board where Tunisia is before she replies, “North Africa,” as they continue to stressfully laugh and pull up maps on their phone.

In a follow-up video, Dzialo wrote in white text over the screen, “the airline employee misheard us and booked us a flight to TUNISIA, AFRICA instead of Nice, France.”

They even tried to bolt, but the crew apparently coaxed them back into their seats, assuring them Nice was “later, later, you change the plane.”

Problem is, they didn’t actually have a ticket to Nice — so they shrugged and stayed put.

The geographically challenged creator’s caption read, “the whole plane witnessed our spiral and either found it entertaining or hated us.”

After landing and having several different gyrations and panic conversations with flight attendants, the friends finally made it to their desired destination.

Dzialo filmed her friend stepping off the plane to Nice, telling her followers, “yall we made it.”

Some commenters tried to lighten the mood. “Honestly of alllllll the places in Africa you could have ended up, Tunis is actually very close to Nice,” one noted.

Others weren’t so forgiving. “You should be embarrassed at the number of things you just didn’t read to catch this problem earlier,” one scolded, while another griped, “The laughing and giggling would make me irrationally angry..”

But plenty piled on: “This pmo cuz yall being loud and obnoxious,” one fumed. Another asked bluntly, “Did no one read the sign AT THE GATE???”

Turns out, they’re not the only jet-setters who’ve bungled their boarding passes recently.

As previously reported by The Post, fellow TikTok besties Lynne Mazouz and Kira Smith thought they booked a flight to San Jose, Costa Rica — but their getaway landed them in San Jose, California instead.

And in a scene straight out of “Home Alone,” The Post also covered that 6-year-old Casper Ramos was mistakenly put on the wrong Spirit Airlines flight in 2023 — landing hundreds of miles from his Florida destination.

From Nice to Tunis, and Costa Rica to California — apparently, the first rule of travel is always double-check your geography before takeoff.
