Charlie Kirk’s death has led to individuals seemingly attempting to file trademarks to create products using his name, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

On September 15, five days after Kirk’s death, a man named Terrance Malone filed documents to obtain the trademark for the phrase “Charlie Kirk’s Life Matters.”

Malone, a 50-year-old who lives in Pennsylvania, explained he wanted to potentially create clothing with the phrase. Malone said he planned to use it on shirts, fishermen’s jackets, long jackets, track jackets, board shorts, socks, footwear, hats (including fur hats), along with hunting and camouflage pants.

A second application was filed on Sunday, September 21 by a woman named Jasmine Wong. The application asked for the right to use the name Charlie Kirk to make dresses, shirts, sweatshirts, pajamas, sweaters, hooded sweatshirts, headwear and tops as clothing for babies.

Wong’s filing noted, “The name, portrait, likeness or signature showing in the mark does not identify a living individual.”

The applications have not been signed off on. The Individuals will likely have a hard time if the applications are related to Kirk, as his estate has the final say on who can use his name or likeness.

As Us previously reported, Kirk was murdered while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10 at the age of 31. He left behind his wife, Erika Kirk (née Frantzve), and their two children. The couple kept the kid’s names and faces private.

Police arrested a man named Tyler Robinson over Kirk’s death. Robinson, 22, was charged with aggravated assault.

On Sunday, Erika, 36, spoke at the late activist’s memorial on Sunday, September 21 in Arizona, where she said she forgave Robinson for his actions.

She said, “That man. That young man. I forgive him. I forgive him because it was what Christ did in his. What Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the Gospel is love and always love.”

Erika added, “Love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us.”

The same day, The New York Times published an interview with Erika where she revealed the final text she sent her late husband. Erika said Charlie got up early to head to Utah for his event at the college campus. She said she texted him “I love you” after he left the home.

She detailed how law enforcement tried to shield her from looking at Kirk’s body. “With all due respect,” Erika said she told an officer, “I want to see what they did to my husband.”

“His eyes were semi-open,” Erika told the outlet. “And he had this knowing, Mona Lisa-like half-smile. Like he’d die happy. Like Jesus rescued him. The bullet came, he blinked, and he was in heaven.”

Other speakers at Kirk’s memorial included President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance.

Erika also revealed she would be taking over as CEO of Charlie’s company Turning Point USA.

“The world needs Turning Point USA. It needs a group that will point young people away from the path of misery and sin. It needs something that will lead people away from hell in this world and in the next,” she said. “It needs young people pointed in the direction of truth and beauty. And so I promise you, today, every part of our work will become greater.” “
