Big Brother couple Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo are preparing to welcome their second child.
Franzel, 33, took to Instagram on Sunday, August 24, to reveal that she is pregnant. Sharing a carousel of adorable snaps that captured Arroyo, 34, and the pair’s son, Arrow, 4, cuddling up to one another on a picnic rug, the reality TV alum detailed her happy news in the caption.
“We are PREGNANT 🥹!! Praise Jesus!! A HUGE thank you to those who have been praying alongside us for this miracle,” Franzel, who appeared on 2014’s Big Brother season 16 and went on to win season 18 in 2016, wrote. “3 years in waiting and God said it’s time 🥰🤍 our little family is growing!!”
Franzel and Arroyo, who met during season 18 of the reality series, formed a friendship that later blossomed into romance away from the Big Brother house. (It wasn’t the end of their reality TV fascination, however, as they competed as a couple in season 31 of The Amazing Race in 2019.)
Arroyo, who was seen gently cradling Franzel’s bump in one of the carousel’s shots, shared her post via his own Instagram account right after Franzel’s went live.
The shoot also included a sweet moment where Arrow grabbed onto a shirt with the word “Brother” written across the front.
Franzel’s pregnancy announcement comes just one month after she and Arroyo, who married in March 2021, exclusively spoke to Us Weekly about how their friendship evolved into something more. “I thought she was really cute, but I didn’t see us being together,” Arroyo told Us on July 17. “Even after we got off the show, I would reach out to her and check in. And it was just, like, super friends.”
Franzel also spoke about their life in Michigan, where she spent her childhood. “I grew up [there]. We’re still in the same town where I always lived,” she told Us. “I’m super close to my family. I love the seasons. I love the country life. I love rural life. We did buy a house with 10 acres, and we literally have a rescue farm in our backyard.”
Reflecting on the key ingredients to marital bliss, Arroyo told Us that open communication is crucial. “Express your feelings,” he said at the time. “Say, ‘Thank you for doing that thing. I really appreciate that you did that for me’ and also the ‘I didn’t like what you did there and I want to talk about it.’ That’s important.”
As for what the future holds outside of extending their family, the duo have not ruled out another reality TV stint.
“Survivor!” Arroyo told Us during the interview. “My strategy would still be the same [as Big Brother]. Just try to win as many competitions as I can, but I’d like it for the experience, to try to see if I can do that, live out there and compete and stay mentally strong.”
Nicole’s preferred reality TV show, however? “Mine would be [The] Traitors because I like games where there’s not much physical activity. And then I think Dancing With the Stars. That’s very physical, so I guess that could be a problem, but it would be so much fun.”
