A longtime TV news anchor is stepping down after more than three decades in the business — but it won’t be her final act.

Beloved presenter and reporter Michelle Bandur announced Monday that she is signing off after 35 years in TV news and leaving Sacramento’s KCRA.

“What a ride I’ve had being a TV news journalist since the late ’80s,” she wrote in a heartfelt Facebook post announcing her last day with the station.

“I’ve enjoyed and learned so much being part of the changes over the decades in TV news—from hairstyles and technology to social media and now a direct connection to viewers.”

An Iowa native, the two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist has worked in both Los Angeles and Sacramento.

“One thing has never changed—the storytelling, truth-seeking, and digging for answers,” she wrote. “Journalism matters more than ever.”

As for what’s next for the TV journalist, she teased a major next step in her career.

“I’m staying in Sacramento after receiving a once in a lifetime opportunity with a unique company,” she wrote. “More to come!” (How do you like that tease!?)”

Bandur also highlighted her key accomplishments, including advocacy work with a special projects producer to improve living conditions for foster children — efforts later recognized in a California bill.

“Thank you, NorCal, for allowing me to help you share your stories, even on your darkest days,” she wrote.
