Former President Joe Biden’s daughter, Ashley Biden, described the past several weeks as “one of the hardest summers of my life” amid her recent divorce and her father’s ongoing cancer battle.

The 44-year-old ex-first daughter took to Instagram Tuesday to share a hopeful message with her 26,000 followers, where she expressed gratitude for her family and rediscovering “strength and love for myself,” seemingly referencing both hardships.

“August 2025,” she captioned the post. “The Summer of 2025 was one of the hardest summers of my life.”

“I have been preparing for the fall (my fav season) and now ready for the RISE 🦋,” she went on. “Grateful for the support of friends and family. Grateful that i took the time/space to grieve, process, and heal.”

“Grateful for peace of mind, new beginnings, new seasons, and a rediscovered strength and love for myself,” Ashley Biden concluded.

The social media post included several images of herself, as well as some snaps of her friends, family and her spending some quality time with the former president.

Ashley’s social media has featured photos of Joe frequently in recent weeks, with one Instagram Story showing the former president on a walk as she wrote, “Chicken soup for my soul. I feel so grateful for our walks and talks. 🥇 Dad!”

Her post comes just weeks after she filed for divorce from her plastic surgeon husband, Dr. Howard Krein, after more than 13 years of marriage.

Meghan Markle’s close pal filed the papers in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on Aug. 11, The Post confirmed.

And though she hasn’t made any public statements about the demise of the duo’s marriage, Ashley did repost a quote on social media that read, “New life, new beginnings means new boundaries. New ways of being that won’t look or sound like they did before.”

The pair had tied the knot in Greenville, Delaware, back in June 2012 — two years after being set up by her late older brother, Beau Biden.

Hours before the bombshell filing, Ashley shared a picture purportedly showing Krein holding hands with another woman.

“My husband and his girlfriend holding hands,” Biden wrote in an Instagram story, the Daily Mail reported.

Ashley posted the photo, which showed a man and woman taken from behind, alongside the Notorious B.I.G. song “Another,” featuring Lil’ Kim, which details an affair.

Amid the highly publicized break-up, Ashley has dealt with other family turmoil in recent months, including her father’s grim prostate cancer diagnosis in May.

Joe, 82, announced that he had been diagnosed with “aggressive” stage 4 prostate cancer.

“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,” read the May 18 statement.

“On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.”

“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management. The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.”
