Some grocery stores simply have customers — others have fans.
Aldi is one of those grocery stores that has gained cult status, so to show its customers the same appreciation, the national grocery chain is awarding its most loyal shoppers a year of free groceries.
In this economy — that’s a huge win.
The German-owned discount grocery store is creating its first-ever “Aldi Quarter Club” — named after the quarter that’s required to unlock the store’s shopping carts.
This club will consist of 25 superfans with an “unabashed and unwavering love for Aldi.”
In the form of $1,700 in Aldi gift cards, the chosen 25 lucky fans will score an entire year’s worth of free groceries per individual, according to the club’s site.
Move over, Soho House, this might be the hottest new club in the area.
To be considered for an exclusive spot in the Aldi Quarter Club, eligible superfans can go to AldiQuarterClub.com to submit an entry starting today through Aug. 29, 11:59 p.m. ET — which will require them to answer some questions to prove their unwavering ALDI love.
Aside from the free groceries, those chosen to be a part of the club will be invited to a members-only event in the grocer’s hometown, they’ll receive a custom varsity-style Quarter Club jacket along with other merch and a chance to be featured on the store’s social media channels.
“Our fans are a key part in fueling Aldi’s growth — and they’re a huge, special part of the Aldi story. Their passion goes well beyond grocery shopping; it’s a way of life,” Dave Rinaldo, Chief Operating Officer, ALDI U.S., said in a statement.
“We’ve earned their dedication by providing the best value, award-winning products and the most efficient shopping experience, and they have embraced it all. The Aldi Quarter Club is our way of honoring that loyalty and deepening our connection with those who have helped shape Aldi into what it is today.”
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the beloved chain made the cheapest grocery stores in 2025 list.
MarketForce conducted the study, which surveyed over 4,300 shoppers. They found that almost 71% of grocery store shoppers frequent Aldi for its wildly low prices.
The store can keep its prices low, even in today’s times, by following a clever strategy of minimizing staff, using to-the-point displays around the store and requiring shoppers to pay to use the shopping carts.
