If you want to show some appreciation, flowers or chocolates are a good place to start. But for someone really, really special, you’re going to want to go all out.
And as far as going all out goes, we think naming a plane after someone is right up there – which is exactly what you can do if you win this competition from Eurowings.
The budget German carrier, which is part of the Lufthansa group, is asking European residents to nominate people “who make a real difference through their kindness, support and appreciation of others” for the honour.
“Every Eurowings aircraft connects people and brings them closer to those who matter most,” Max Kownatzki, CEO of Eurowings, said.
“With ‘Name a Plane’, we are celebrating the people who make life easier for others. Often, it is the small, everyday gestures that make the greatest difference.
“Putting their name on one of our aircraft is our way of giving that contribution the recognition it deserves.”
How to take part in the ‘name a plane’ competition
You can nominate someone to have a plane named after them between now and 11 October on eurowings.com/nameaplane.
In between 250 and 400 characters, you’ll need to explain how or why this person makes your life easier.
One entry is accepted per person, and the competition is open to those aged 18 and up who reside in Europe.
The names will be revealed in December, with four Eurowings Airbus A320 aircraft to bear the first names of those chosen.
