Adele couldn’t hold back tears when she spotted fellow singing icon Céline Dion in the audience of her Las Vegas residency show.

In a video posted by a TikTok user, the singer, 36, appeared emotional as she approached Dion, 56, at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace — the venue built in 2003 for her own Vegas residency — on Saturday, October 26, during a performance of “When We Were Young.”

The duo shared a tearful embrace in front of the screaming crowd, with Dion holding Adele’s face in her hands. The “All by Myself” singer then kissed Adele’s hand before they whispered words to each other and Adele walked off.

Dion could be seen weeping as she sat back down, dabbing tears away as her twin sons, Nelson and Eddy, 14, comforted their mother. (She shares Nelson and Eddy, as well as son René-Charles, 23, with late husband René Angélil.)

Another fan video on X shows Adele crying following the emotional meetup with Dion. When she returned to the stage, she said, “Give it up to Ms. Céline Dion,” as the audience went wild. Dion stood and thanked the crowd, looking emotional.

The women have supported each other in the past. Adele was even able to attend one of Dion’s Vegas shows in January 2018 — rocking a Titanic hoodie during a photocall backstage.

“Queen Celine! What a show, an absolute highlight of my life, thank you so much for the attention to your crowd and insane humor,” Adele wrote on Instagram at the time. “Happy new year lady.”

Dion also posted to Instagram, writing, “Wasn’t able to do all my shows, but was thrilled that Adele came to one of them … I love her so much!!”

Dion delayed her residency in late 2021 and canceled a series of European concert dates before disclosing in December 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a neurological disorder affecting the muscles. In June 2024, Dion told People she had struggled with a variety of mysterious symptoms for 17 years before her August 2022 diagnosis.

“My vocal cords used to lead my way, and now I can’t even just talk with them. I barely could walk, and I was missing very much living,” she said. “My kids started to notice. I was like, OK, they already lost a parent. I don’t want them to be scared.”

Dion detailed her experience in the 2024 documentary I Am: Celine Dion.

Adele is a longtime fan of Dion’s and revealed in a “73 Questions” video for Vogue in 2021 that her “proudest possession” is a framed piece of the “All By Myself” singer’s gum.

“It’s pretty amazing,” the singer told Vogue in the clip. “James Corden — who’s a friend of mine but also does Carpool Karaoke, which I did — did one with her. He knew how much of a fan I was of her and he made her spit her gum into a piece of paper and she framed it for me.”
