Aaron Rodgers unleashed some major fury about the speculation into his recent marriage and mystery wife.

Rodgers, 41, appeared on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, June 24, where he discussed his relationship in depth for the first time since revealing he was married earlier this month.

“It’s a sick society, isn’t it? It’s a sick society,” Rodgers said. “I lived in the public eye for 20 years. I had public relationships. How did that work out?”

Rodgers has had a string of high-profile partners, including former fiancée Shailene Woodley and girlfriends like actress Olivia Munn and race car driver Danica Patrick

The quarterback explained that his wife, who Rodgers has said is named Brittani, is not interested in emerging from the shadows.

“Didn’t want that. Didn’t like any of that,” Rodgers said. “And now I’m with somebody who’s private, who doesn’t want to be in the public eye. Didn’t sign up to be a celebrity. Doesn’t want to be a part of it. Because I do things in private, because I want my personal life to be private, now I’m weird.”

Rodgers called the “entitlement” to information about his marriage “so f***ing ridiculous and embarrassing.”

“Stop making s*** up,” he added. “My private life is my private life. It’s gonna stay that way. I’m with somebody who wants to be private. If and when she wants to be out and there’s a picture, she’ll choose that. She deserves a right to that.”

Rodgers said his wife “doesn’t have social media,” and he’s not planning on “making a loving post on Instagram” any time soon.

“Look, you wanna do that, that’s fine,” Rodgers said. “That’s your own prerogative. I don’t care. That’s just not what I want to do. I don’t want to be a part of any of that.”

Rodgers even criticized the rumor that he might not “even have a wife,” pushing back against the idea that he was trying to do some “attention-grabbing thing” by announcing he was married out of the blue.

According to Rogers, his own family – who Rodgers said “I don’t talk to” – has no knowledge about his marriage or his wife.

“They wouldn’t know any information about me,” Rodgers said bluntly.

Rodgers signed a one-year deal to be the new starting quarterback of the Steelers earlier this month. After that, however, Rodgers sounds ready to go off the grid.

“When this is all done, I’m out,” Rodgers said. “You won’t see me.”

Rodgers added, “I know that I’ve chosen to be in the public eye for one more season. But my private life is staying private.”

In closing, Rodgers issued a challenge to keep his name out of the headlines until Steelers training camp opens in July.

“Do what you need to do, but try and leave me out of a conversation, sports world, for a month,” Rodgers said. “Try and just leave me out. My personal life. My professional life. Try not to talk about me. Try not to still be relevant for the next six weeks, five weeks, whatever it is. See if you can do that.”
