NFL pro Aaron Rodgers isn’t holding back when it comes to his opinions on America’s political leaders.

“You shouldn’t trust the government. The government’s a uni party,” Rodgers, 42, claimed on the Thursday, September 10, episode of the “Not Just Football” podcast. “If voting actually mattered, they wouldn’t let you do it. That’s the truth. … We should be skeptical of all of it.”

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, who previously confirmed the 2026 season will be his last before retiring, argued that the public has conflicting beliefs about his political affiliation. While chatting with podcast cohosts Cam Heyward and Hayden Walsh, Rodgers stayed mum on his preferred party.

“The right didn’t like me because I played golf with [Barack] Obama. And then they think because I’m antivax that I’m a right-wing conspiracy theorist Trumper,” he said. “First of all, I don’t trust anybody in politics — maybe Ron Paul — but it’s all the uni party. It’s one party. They don’t give a f*** about regular people.”

Rodgers was quick to criticize Donald Trump’s second term in the White House. According to the Super Bowl champion, the commander in chief has not followed through with his campaign promises.

“Trump gets into office running on all these policies. He’s going to go after the swamp and go into Fort Knox and cut the vaccine stuff and not go into Foreign Wars and end the Ukraine stuff and what’s actually happening?” Rodgers asked. “And transparency in the Epstein files. Absolutely nothing.”

He continued, “There’s been nothing but the obstruction of transparency with this entire administration. … There’s no Make America Great movement because the guy you elected hasn’t done any of his campaign promises.”

Rodgers made it clear that he also wasn’t impressed with the president who preceded Trump’s second term.

“They roll out that old bag of bones,” he said, referring to Joe Biden before mentioning Trump’s time hosting The Apprentice. “That was a wild four years, and then you just bring back in the guy from the TV show. … Politics is a total sham.”

During the lengthy conversation, Rodgers — who will face off against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, September 13, when the Steelers hold their first game of the NFL season — discussed a variety of personal matters.

Some topics included his past relationships with ex-fiancée Shailene Woodley and former flame Danica Patrick. He also shed some light on his growing relationship with estranged brother Jordan Rodgers.

“I’m in a much better headspace, and I said it before, but my wife deserves a lot of the credit for that just to be even able to get to that point where I could think about having the conversation,” Aaron said, while praising Brittani. “She was a big part of that.”
