Influencer Chase Filandro’s cause of death has been revealed.
“It was Chase’s own decision to enter Heaven. His light will continue to shine eternally in the hearts of all those he touched throughout his remarkable, though far too brief, life,” his family told TMZ in a statement on Tuesday, August 5. “Our family is heartbroken and devastated by the sudden and unexpected loss of our beloved, Chase.”
The message continued, “We are sharing this statement to honor his memory. Those who knew Chase understood his deep love for the arts and the outdoors. His passionate spirit and genuine warmth created lasting connections with people everywhere.”
The outlet noted that the family has asked for privacy as they honor “the beautiful life Chase lived.”
“Chase brought joy, creativity, and inspiration to so many,” the statement concluded. “While our hearts are shattered by this tremendous loss, we find comfort in knowing that his artistic legacy and the love he shared will never be forgotten.”
News of Filandro’s death was first shared by the official Instagram account for acting school Take 2 Actor’s Studio on Friday, August 1.
“It is with profound sorrow that we share the loss of our sweet Chase. He was truly the brightest light! ✨️ ,” the message read, alongside a black-and-white photo of Filandro. “I will forever miss his smile, his vibrant spirit, and the joy he brought into every room. His presence was a gift, and his absence leaves a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. Love you always, Chasie xo.”
Filandro’s sister, Franki Ford, also paid tribute to her brother after his death in an Instagram post on Monday, August 4. Alongside the message, Ford shared an image of Filandro wearing a pair of jeans and a blue-and-white flannel shirt while smiling in front of Mount Rushmore.
“My brother, Chase Filandro, was a shining light who had an incredible zest for life,” Ford wrote. “He was loved beyond words by so many and opened his heart to everyone he encountered. Chase was an avid traveler and was moved by the beauty of National Parks. He always welcomed strangers with a smile and made friends along all the trails he traveled on.”
She continued, “To honor his life and remember his legacy forever, we welcome you to contribute towards a memorial for him to be located at or near one of his favorite parks. Once finalized, we’ll share the details so you can visit and enjoy what Chase loved doing most, knowing he is right alongside you. ❤️.”
Ford shared an update on a GoFundMe page for Filandro, who amassed more than 35,000 followers on Instagram sharing content from his travels, and gave her thanks for those showing support after his death.
“Update: We are overwhelmed with the support for Chase’s memorial. Thank you so much for helping us reach our goal in only 13 hours, Chase clearly had such an impact on many,” the message read. “We are continuing to raise funds to now support the building of an additional memorial in New York that is closer to home. Thank you all again.”
